Plans for a fun-filled community fest featuring informational booths, demonstrations, and an array of healthy foods and activities are underway. Exhibitors are sought for the upcoming Wellness Fair at the Silver Creek Central School District.

The Wellness Fair is an ideal showcase for area businesses and health service organizations to connect with the community and highlight programs and services aimed at improving health. A steady stream of attendees is expected as the Wellness Fair coincides with the district’s annual budget vote on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, as well as a Character Showcase and the annual Art Show at Silver Creek Elementary School.

The fair – which will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the gym – aims to increase health awareness and disease prevention for students and families by providing health screenings and disaster preparedness information; increasing awareness of health services and resources; motivating attendees to make positive health behavior changes; teaching self-care practices along with related activities. The event – which will be held in the Silver Creek High School gymnasium, is facilitated by the district Health Advisory Council and Wellness Fair Subcommittee.

Those interested in participating as an exhibitor at this year’s festival should contact School Nurse Jennifer Johnson at (716) 934-2603, ext. 1107 and request a registration form. Participants will be provided with a table, chairs and an outlet (upon request). Exhibitors are responsible for their own display, equipment and extension cords. Vendor setup on May 21 will run 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
