Dear Silver Creek Families, 

Welcome to the 26-27 school year! If you ask me, this is the most wonderful time of the year! A fresh start, a new beginning, renewed energy, and so much potential! I hope you used time the last month of summer to make new memories!  

This year, we have realigned our district goals, making academic achievement our first priority. We spent much of summer planning professional development opportunities and student experiences that highlight our commitment to increasing academic achievement by providing high-quality, strengths-based educational programming that promotes student ownership of learning.  

Of course, to have ownership over their learning, our students must be in school! We will continue our #everyday attendance initiative because we know how important it is that our students are present every single day. Strong attendance is one of the greatest predictors of student success, and #everyday matters. We appreciate continued partnership with our families in making regular school attendance a priority. 

This year also marks an exciting milestone as we introduce our new district mission statement: 

Empowering ALL to Belong, Grow, and Succeed. 

I want to thank the members of our CDEP committee who worked to establish this mission statement, which captures who we are and who we aspire to be. We want Silver Creek to be a place where students, staff, and families want to be. We are committed to creating schools where every person feels a sense of belonging, is challenged to grow academically, professionally, and personally, and is supported in achieving their version of success. This mission will guide our work and our decisions as we continue to write the Black Knight story. 

Construction on our voter-approved Capital Improvement Project continues to move forward on schedule, and we are thrilled with the progress being made throughout the district. These investments will provide students with modern, safe, and engaging learning environments for years to come. 

This summer we opened our Knight's Castle playground, and early this fall we will open our new triple-sport turf field, which is nearing completion. Please watch for details about a September grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, where we will officially open the field and celebrate what it means for our students, athletes, and the entire Silver Creek community! 

Thank you for your continued trust, partnership, and support. Together, we will make this school year one filled with belonging, growth, and success. We look forward to welcoming our students back for another year to remember!
