Tie-Dye:  Mastering Color & Design

Tuesdays
Feb. 4 – Apr. 1, 2025                            8 classes
6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Rm. 149

Registration fee:  $75 or $10/class

 Instructor: Bobbie Kilburn

Dive into the colorful work of tie-dye in this 8-session course designed for all skill levels!

Each class offers an opportunity to learn and practice a different technique, from basic spiral and stripes to more complicated designs such as geodes and mandalas. Learn different dyeing techniques such as basic liquid dyeing, ice and snow dyeing, and reverse dyeing.  Sign up for your chance to experiment with unique effects to transform ordinary fabrics into stunning works of art.

Students are encouraged to bring 2 – 4 dyeable items to each class. Think beyond your basic white T-shirt.  Consider items such as skirts, dresses, tote bags, sheets and pillowcases, table cloths, or curtains.  Items do not have to be new or white, and need to be made of natural fiber fabrics, such as cotton, rayon, viscose, and modal.  Tie-dye is a great way to bring new life to items that may be stained or faded.

All dyes and basic supplies are included.  Just bring your items to personalize and your enthusiasm to create!
