Earlier today, September 29, 2023, a school bus with one driver and eleven students was traveling on Route 20 when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction crossed over the median. Our driver reacted immediately by swerving to avoid a head-on collision with the vehicle. Despite the driver’s best efforts, the vehicle collided with the bus. The bus driver and all students have been medically evaluated and we are thankful to report that there are no injuries. Parents and guardians of the students have been contacted and the students have returned to school. The District is grateful for our driver’s quick reflexes and response to the situation, which likely avoided serious injuries to himself, our students, and the other driver. **For everyone getting repeated blank calls- the phone sytem is glitching. We attempted to relay this message through our all call system. **

Saturday, September 30th is a National Day of Remembrance of Indigenous Boarding Schools, or Orange Shirt Day. This national day of remembrance began as a day to bring attention to the damage the residential school system did to Indigenous children, lifeways, and cultures. We invite the community to show your support and wear orange on Friday September 29th. #BKP #SCCARES

8th grade students in Mrs. Smith's class were doing the new middle school science investigation “All Mixed Up” where they had to develop procedures to separate various mixtures.
