Dear Parent/Guardian:
I would like to inform our school community that Mr. Thomas Buczkowski, our High School Principal, has accepted a position at Gateway Longview located in Buffalo, NY effective March 11, 2022. Please join me in both congratulating Mr. Buczkowski and wishing him the best of luck in his next endeavors. Mr. Buczkowski has given our students and district his complete support and commitment in the 15 years in which he served as a HS Social Studies teacher and the past six years he has served as High School Principal.
We have arranged for Mrs. Delia Bonenberger to serve as interim high school principal while we conduct a thorough and comprehensive search for Mr. Buczkowski’s replacement. Mrs. Bonenberger served as our interim middle school principal this past fall, interim superintendent during the 2015-2016 school year and additionally, she served as interim elementary principal in August through September 2016 and February through July 2020 while we hired our elementary principals. Rest assured, Mrs. Bonenberger has a wealth of experience as an educator in our local region, has intimate knowledge of our district, administrative experience at all levels, and a deep sense of commitment to the students and staff of Silver Creek Central School District.
We have advertised this position and are presently creating a process and timeline for conducting the search for our next high school principal. The Board of Education and I plan to move swiftly with our search process so that we can attract the best candidates for this important position. We anticipate being able to appoint a new high school principal in late March or early April 2022.
Please welcome Mrs. Bonenberger as she begins serving as our interim high school principal on March 14, 2022. I will provide an update in the next few weeks so that you remain informed of the progress regarding this search process.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at (716) 934-2603 ext. 1900.
Sincerely,
Todd A. Crandall
Superintendent of Schools
